May 16 Charity Walk & Talk in Mojácar for two great causes
The 5K stroll along Mojácar’s paseo will finish with drinks and tapas at Tito’s Beach Bar

A group of businesses in Mojácar have teamed up to organise a charity Walk & Talk event this month, with organisers hoping to raise more than €2,000 for two well-known local causes.
The 5K charity stroll will take place on Saturday May 16 and will raise funds for PAWS-PATAS animal shelter and MACS Cancer Support Group.
Walkers are asked to meet outside Cruz Roja Mojácar on Paseo del Mediterráneo at 10.30am before setting off along the seafront promenade. The route will continue to the end of the paseo before looping back to Tito’s Beach Bar, where participants can enjoy a drink and tapa after the walk.
Tickets cost €10 for adults, €5 for under 16s and are free for children under two. The price includes water, a goodie bag and refreshments at the finish line.
The idea originally came from Alex Radford at My Lawyer in Spain, who wanted to help the company’s new Mojácar office connect with the local community while supporting good causes.
“We always try to give back to local charities in the areas where we are based, and organising events which bring the community together and raise money is something we’re very passionate about,” he said.
“I’ve attended similar Walk & Talk events and really liked the mix of community and business networking. I thought it would be a good fit for Mojácar, so suggested the idea to the team and they’ve really ran with it. The first step was to find other similarly community-minded businesses and we were overwhelmed with the response!”
Mr Radford also thanked the businesses that quickly signed up to support the fundraiser.
“Tim Taplin Financial Services, Currencies Direct, Macenas Resort, Spanish Property Choice, Ibex Insurance, Coastal Properties, Indalo Transport and Storage and Tito’s Beach Bar were all really keen to get involved and have been working hard to spread the word and sell tickets. We’d like to thank them for their commitment and support.”
“Our aim is to have at least 100 participants, and raise more than €2,000 for these great causes and we welcome you to come and join us!”
“It’s a great way to combine exercise, charity fundraising, community connection, getting to know local businesses and networking.”
“Everyone is welcome!”
MACS is a registered Spanish charity supporting cancer patients, survivors and carers from Almería to Vélez Rubio, while PAWS-PATAS rescues and rehomes abandoned animals from its shelter between Los Gallardos and Turre.
Money raised from the event will be split equally between both organisations.
Tickets can be purchased from the following locations:
- PAWS PATAS Mojácar – Multicentro local #11, Multi Centro, 04638 Mojácar Playa
- MACS Cancer Support Group – Av. de Almeria, 04639 Turre
