The port city of Cartagena has earned recognition as the ‘Best Spanish Seaside Town for History’ by the travel experts at Which?

Known for its captivating blend of history and coastal charm, Cartagena stands as a premier destination for travellers eager to immerse themselves in Spain's storied past.

What makes Cartagena shine is its impressive line-up of “five-star” tourist attractions, according to Which? Noteworthy highlights include the first-century Roman Amphitheatre and the meticulously maintained Contemporary Bathhouse and Arcade at Barrio del Foro Romano.

History buffs will delight in visiting Cartagena, a strategic port city steeped in intrigue since antiquity, the experts pointed out. Phoenician settlers arrived first, followed by Roman conquerors who transformed the area into a flourishing naval hub.
