These are the four roads in the Region of Murcia that are blocked by tractors this Thursday morning
The ‘tractorada’ protest is taking place on the A-30 between Murcia city and Cartagena, the A-7 above La Hoya de Lorca, the A-30 near Blanca going north and the MU-32 near Archena in the direction of Murcia

From 9am to 1.30pm this Thursday January 29, farmers’ tractors are blocking four motorways in the Region of Murcia in protest at cuts to aid for the agricultural sector and a trade deal they say threatens Spanish produce growers. The mobilisation, called by the agricultural and livestock organisations Asaja, COAG and UPA under the slogan ‘Super Thursday’, will take place in more than 30 Spanish provinces, as well as Murcia.
In the case of Murcia, the protests, which will involve traffic disruptions, will be concentrated at four specific points:
- on the Murcia-Cartagena section of the A-30;
- on the A-7 near La Hoya de Lorca;
- the A-30 towards Madrid, at the Blanca junction;
- and the MU-32, towards Murcia, at the Archena-Venta El Empalme junction.
Unlike the last tractor protest held in February 2024, the farmers do not plan to enter the cities, but will focus their protest on the motorways.
The Government Delegation will deploy extensive traffic and security measures on Thursday to “maintain the necessary balance between the farmers’ right to protest and people’s freedom of movement, without affecting the provision of basic services or access to critical infrastructure”.
The first traffic closure will be at kilometre 170 of the Murcia-Cartagena section of the A-30. The protest is expected to take place near the Garcerán petrol station and restaurant, close to the Fuente Álamo and Lobosillo exit. It will affect both directions of the motorway.
Alternatives to the A-30 include taking the RM-19 towards Cartagena and the RM-2 towards Murcia.
The second closure is signposted at kilometre 622 of the A-7, near the Lorca district of La Hoya. It will also be in both directions.
As an alternative route, a properly signposted and marked transfer will be set up on the A7 between P.K. 618+740 and P.K. 621+850, towards Murcia.
