Shocking incident as masked man abandons lifeless woman outside emergency department

Police in Jaén are investigating a bizarre and unsettling incident after a heavily disguised man left the body of an elderly woman in a wheelchair outside a hospital before running away. The woman, thought to be around 90 years old, was already dead when she was abandoned at the entrance to the emergency department of Jaén Metropolitan Hospital on Tuesday March 18, according to hospital sources.

Security footage shows the man arriving at the private health centre, located on the Córdoba highway, just after 1pm. He can be seen entering the hospital, taking a wheelchair, returning to his vehicle, and then walking back across the car park. He then places the woman at the entrance, leaves her "like an abandoned dog," and quickly flees. The disturbing footage has been handed over to the police, who are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Hospital staff who witnessed the event reported that the man was heavily disguised, wearing a hood, mask, gloves, a hat and glasses to conceal his identity. A post-mortem has since confirmed that the woman died of natural causes and showed no signs of violence, but authorities are still investigating why she was left at the hospital in such a manner.

The case has sparked concern in the local community, with Jaén mayor Julio Millán describing the situation as "surprising" and stressing that it does not reflect the daily life of the city. "This is an anomalous event," he told reporters on Wednesday. "We have to wait for the full investigation to understand the details of what happened."

Authorities are continuing their inquiries to establish the identity of both the deceased woman and the man who left her at the hospital. Anyone with relevant information is urged to come forward as the investigation progresses.
