Click HereThe second meeting of the round table working party to solve the infrastructural problems which affect the Camposol development was held on Wednesday September 14 in the Town Hall of Mazarrón and presided over by Mayor Gaspar Miras.
At the first meeting of the group on July 6 the group was officially formed and on this occasion those present were again representing the Hydrographic Confederation of the Segura basin (CHS), which is dependent on the national government Ministry of Ecological Transition, the Murcia regional government department of Water and the Town Hall of Mazarrón. As well as these different levels of government, residents were also represented by members of the Camposol Neighbours Association and the Camposol Residents Association (CRA), as were all political groups within present in the Town Hall.
On the agenda for the meeting were a summary of the technical consultations which took place between Mazarrón Town Hall and the CHS on August 4, the project to divert and channel the Rambla de los Aznares floodwater channel including various alternatives, their technical and financial viability, and the conclusions reached by each administrative body regarding the most appropriate way in which to find a solution which is optimal for residents and least harmful to their interests.
In addition, an agreement was reached to study the technical implications of amending one of the alternatives proposed with more up-to-date programs and methods in order to establish whether it still satisfies the criteria of each administrative body and, if this is the case, whether it would affect any of the homes already built. It is also necessary to analyse whether this alternative and be made any more economical and its technical difficulties made easier.
The Town Hall reports that the fluid communication among the three administrative bodies and the residents taking part in the working party is making it easier to make progress towards identifying the best solution, and that thanks are due to each and every one of the participants for the interest shown in finding the most advantageous solutions as soon as possible for the residents of Camposol.
