Murcia weekend weather May 25-28: More rain forecast to continue into next week
It will not stop raining this weekend in Murcia, and it is set to last at least until the end of the month
Even as authorities assure us that the worst of the downpour is behind us now, the Region of Murcia remains on yellow alert for up to 15 litres of rainfall per square metre in one hour during the afternoon and evening of Thursday May 25.
Many parts of the autonomous community have experienced flooding and damage to property over the last three days, and we’re not nearly done with the rain yet.
The forecast for this weekend is for a drizzly and grey Friday May 26, but many areas will stay dry and the sun will pop out for a while.

On Saturday 27, however, it will basically be raining all day and on Sunday 28 there will be massive thunderstorms across the entire Region.

Aemet only issues its weather warnings three days in advance, and they are constantly updated, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if we were on orange alert on Sunday.
There are fears that the rain will keep people away from the ballots on Sunday, and that the results of the municipal and regional elections could be affected by the weather.
As we head into next week, there is more rain from Monday to Wednesday, to round off the month of May.
With these downpours, it is estimated that there could be as much rain in May as there has been in the previous seven months in the Region of Murcia.
Because of the lack of rain (this past week excepted), this spring is on course to be labelled the driest ever recorded in Spain.
