Mar Menor Frolic Golf Society raises 4,700 euros for charity
This golfing society frequently makes generous contributions to local charities and organisations
The Mar Menor Frolic Golf Society, a community of golf enthusiasts based at the Mar Menor Golf Resort, has once again demonstrated its generosity and commitment to supporting local causes.
This year, the society raised an impressive 4,700 euros for the Yo-Encuentro Charity.
The funds were collected through various events held throughout the year, culminating in the society's annual charity fundraiser.
The grand total was presented to Bob and Mary Barham of Yo-Encuentro by outgoing Captain Jill Leonard during the prize presentation ceremony on Thursday December 19.
At another charity day back in June, the generous golfers also managed to raise 1,000 euros for the Hogar de la Infancia orphanage in Cartagena.
Throughout the year, the group organises regular competitions and events for members and guests, blending fun on the fairways with meaningful support for charitable causes.

The Mar Menor Golf Society meets and plays on Wednesdays and Fridays for the benefit of Members and Guests. Mar Menor Golf Society has an elected Committee comprising Captain, Vice-Captain, Competition Secretary, Handicap Secretary, Secretary and Committee Members.
The society currently plays Mar Menor, La Torre, El Valle, Hacienda Riquelme, Saurines de la Torre, and Condado de Alhama. Guests are welcome to play if there are spare tee times available.
The Society generally has around 300 Members and plays a variety of golf competitions throughout the year. There are major competitions including Captains Day, Captains Charity day and the Society Championship, as well as the regular weekly competitions. The society uses handicap software to maintain the Society handicaps for all our Members.
As well as the golf as there is the usual social scene at the 19th hole in the Hotel spike bar when prizes are presented. There is an annual formal dinner for Captains day.
The society also arranges an annual golfing break which is popular with the Members.
