ARCHIVED - 6 beaches in Mazarron receive award for tourist quality
The SICTED certificate is a coveted award that recognises the effort and interest in the management of the beaches in Spain

Mazarrón has been granted the prestigious SICTED recognition for the high-quality of six of its beaches, specifically the Playa de Bolnuevo, the Playa del Rihuete, the Playa de Nares, the Playa del Castellar, the Playa de La Reya and the Playa del Puerto de Mazarrón beaches.
SICTED, according to its Spanish acronym, stands for Integral System of Spanish Tourist Quality in Destinations and is a way of awarding tourist destinations that are of a particularly high standard.
These six SICTED quality certificates were presented to the Mazarrón Town Hall by the Directorate General for Competitiveness and Tourist Quality of the Autonomous Community of Murcia. The ceremony was held in the town’s Salted Fish Museum, with the official reception by the mayor of the municipality, Gaspar Miras, to the general director of the branch, Carlos Peñafiel.
This recognition values the effort and interest in Mazarrón’s management of the beaches which are carried out the whole year through by the Councillors of Tourism and Coastal Services, directed by the councillor Raquel Raja. This is a project that is committed to improving tourist destinations and is promoted by the Secretary of State for Tourism with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and, in collaboration with the Autonomous Communities.
In addition to the Mayor and the Councillor for Tourism, the Deputy Mayor, Ginés Campillo, and the Councillor for Puerto de Mazarrón, José María Moreno, were present at the ceremony.
